Mentoring and Coaching
Mentoring and Coaching
Starting a business is hard. Turning knowledge into enterprise is risky and many ideas do not survive long enough to become a commercial reality. However, learning from the experiences of others greatly improves your company’s chances of survival.
Mentoring
Mentoring is a Hub-funded service available free-of-charge to selected Hub companies. The Hub has access to 60 high-calibre mentors across the South-East region who are able to provide support to high-growth technology or knowledge-based businesses. The mentors give their time free of charge.
Mentoring offers companies:

Free, unbiased, dedicated support from individuals operating within a best-practice framework
-
Resource to help young companies grow and develop
-
Risk-free opportunities to meet and evaluate potential investors and non-executive directors
-
A higher business profile within an influential audience
-
Regular access to high-quality, experienced individuals
-
Access to high-profile contacts.
High-growth Coaching
Companies that have scaled the initial growth curve, and have the potential to reach much greater heights but have lost momentum are candidates for High Growth Business Coaching. This service provides clients with an in-depth business assessment and a dedicated business coach to ensure they can achieve their growth potential.
The High Growth Coaching programme is a one-year programme aimed at more established, larger Hub companies that have an established management team in place. Companies can be in any sector or industry.
The Enterprise Hub Network, in conjunction with Finance South East and with funding from SEEDA, provides intensive support via five High Growth Business Coaches to 20 companies across the South East that fit the programme’s criteria. Participants are given tailored advice through 12 days of free business coaching, as well as access to related business support services.
The coach will help businesses through seven core elements as part of the growth process:
-
Performance Benchmarking
-
Market Understanding
-
Innovation
-
Intellectual Property
-
Investment Readiness
-
Skills of the Workforce
-
Leadership and Management
